I haven't blogged in what feels like forever. Life seems to have been in super overdrive recently!
I've been really busy with work and my cousin from Australia has been staying with us for the past couple of weeks so we've been taking her everywhere and showing her as much of London as we can! She's been great fun and my friends love her, it'll be a shame when she goes back!
Things are chilling out a bit more at work now that summer's over and people are back from their holidays, so maybe I'll have a bit more quality 'me' time. Maybe.
I've had my R4 card loaded up with new games for about three weeks now and still haven't had a chance to play any of them, I haven't even turned my Nintendo DS on in ages! Let alone my poor lonely PS3, I miss being lazy!
Everyone complains about driving in London, but if you're a cyclist you usually have a hell of a lot more to complain about! If you've not got drivers veering into the bike lane, you've got them turning without indicating, cutting red traffic lights or driving right up your backside.
I got hit by an idiot driver I was cycling alongside, he wanted to turn left without indicating and veered right into me and knocked me half off my bike. I managed to keep a bit of balance otherwise I would've really scratched my bike frame, but I ruined my decent Pepe jeans
Pedestrians are almost worse - they just walk out into the road without looking and come out of nowhere, and as tempting as it is sometimes to just run into them, if I hit them I'll hurt probably myself more.
Now while that may sound like a joke, I'm not joking! I'm deadly serious.
I've never really fully understood the way it all works, but it seems like a fast-paced, high-stress, high-energy, adrenaline-pumping kind of a job, and it looks like if you're good at it, it could be fun!
Look at the guy in The Pursuit Of Happyness - he came from near poverty to be a huge success!
I bet I could do it, I'm good with people and numbers, I can make quick, informed, sensible decisions!
There's a stock broking company called Rowan Dartington just down the road from me, I might see if I can go in for a week and see how it works - like work experience (ridiculous at my age) but at least I might learn something.
Anyone got any tips on how I can get started and get successful?
Not really much to say about this one really other than the fact that this is quite simply one of the best saves I’ve seen in a while. Total professional Disaster Recovery , the guy should get some kind of medal.
Sorting the garden out in my new home is tough work. I have no idea what is a weed and what is a plant. I have no idea what plants to buy to make it look nice and don’t ask me how the lawnmower works! You never get taught gardening at school!
I am finding it just as hard picking my garden furniture this summer than when I tried to pick my furniture for my living room!
There’s plastic, wood or weaved chairs, stools and table. Gazebos and parasols and even a garden bench! There is so much to choose from I just don’t know where to start!
I want some stuff to last me for a while, as it can be expensive. I have managed to find this little set:
